almost a million dollars in pledged funding for myth

A single berserk reached us yesterday, after having come all the way over the mountains from the city of Willow, fourteen hundred miles away. He delivered to Alric a single package the size of a man's fist, wrapped in rags, and refuses to talk with anyone about events in the West.

I wonder if that is copyright infringement.

By using the name Myth. Wouldnt that be like making a game called Halo that had nothing to do with Bungies Halo without getting permission? Isnt the name Halo copyrighted same with Myth?

Uhh, I don't think you can copyright something as generic as "Myth". It might be a problem if it were an RTS video game released around the same time or similar, but it's a completely different market with a generic name with almost no possibility of confusion.

I can't believe a shitty card / board game could raise a million dollars.

Just goes to show you how big of a failure Renwood's kickstarter was in comparison.

Several factors in favor of these guys over Renwood:

1. A lot of these complex Euro-style/Ameritrash board games are the new rage. For good reason - they are pretty fun.

2. I believe the team behind the kickstarter for that board game is well known, unlike Renwood. It's fairly easy to raise money on kickstarter if you have a reputation that precedes you.

Renwood should have mentioned that he was a mwc98 champion. That wouldn't have given him some serious credibility.

you would just think then that if they had that kind of reputation that they wouldn't even need kickstarter to begin with. or maybe that is the trend in kickstarter now, already semi-established companies throwing product ideas out to the public to be crowd-funding bait. it serves as advertising, market research and mitigates some of the production costs all at the same time, with little or no down-side if it fails.

Whoever made this took an inspiration from bungie's myth for sure.
Look at that box and those dead units, archers, animals in combatant outlook etc.
